There are condolences waiting approval on DONNA's Tribute wall

March 4, 1961 – April 10, 2018

DJ is survived by her Husband, Alan Tacinelli (Captain Al), Daughter, Jennifer (Jenna Tacinelli) Hach married to Leland J. Hach Jr., Brothers, Gene, Kevin, Richie & Raymond, Sisters, Kathleen, Susan & Karen and numerous nieces and nephews.

As a Lung Cancer Survivor, she consistently said, “Take It One Day At A Time,” no matter how bad the news was. A diehard Yankee fan, she loved watching her favorites from Don Mattingly to Derek Jeter. She would be offended if you changed the channel. She was the bargain hunting and tag sale enthusiast that loved dogs. She was an adamant crafter—both for the St. Casimir’s Youth Group and independently. From providing ribbons for the veterans, decorated holiday candy canes for the Christmas tree, the clever glove that wiped away dust, plastic canvas Halloween/Christmas/Easter baskets, tissue box covers, decorated table spreads and holiday towels, she did it all. She would turn no one away if they didn’t have the money to participate. Most recently, she started to make scarves and hats for family, friends, local cancer associations, donations to raffles or just selling them for the cost of the yarn.
She truly enjoyed having Lipton Tea (we never had less than 3 boxes) with anyone and everyone, especially if it involved a Dunkin Donut. Even if she was “full” from dinner, there was always room for dessert. She enjoyed driving to her uncles with the music on—singing with the Shirelles to Bon Jovi. Baked goods were her “thing” with her recipes from Grandma, Secretive Apple Cake to her Dark Chocolate Cake. Always willing to have a gift for everyone. She would always purchase the biggest piece of holiday meat (ham, turkey, roast beef) so she could provide meals to the neighbors, those that were working or those without a place to eat.
With an email that said “Bronx Mom,” she was the Mom and friend to all. The memories are endless…She will be truly missed.

Please join us for a celebration of her life at DUCHYNSKI-CHERKO FUNERAL HOME (in Community Home for Funerals, 601 Yonkers Ave., Yonkers NY 10704) on Thursday, April 12, 2018, from 2-4PM and 7-9PM. Interment is Private.

Donations in DJ's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society.
